This one is a picture of a mechanical and electrical apprentices (intake year 1981) on a visit to Sellafield.
 I'm the only one not looking at the camera - cos I was feeling Andrea Scrivens arse at the time.

Apparently the 1981 intake was very large and there were three separate trips to Sellafield/Windscale that year, this is another 1/3 of year photo goes with the other 1/3 submitted by Ste Droughton. 

 Incidentaly this photograph also includes a couple of ex-apprentices who are no longer with us  - Tony Johnson and Andy Phillips.

Here's the  last 1/3, so every apprentice from 1981 is now hopefully represented on one of these  three photo's at least.

Notice the instructor on the back right of all the photo's, can't remember his name now but I recall everyone new him as beaker

This one is a picture of a young lad who won a conker competition. We used all the skill and knowledge gained in the training school to make him a 'trophy' and presented him with it in Ned Pinions workshop.

1981 Intake Apprentice football team, sporting a team strip that look like cut-down green overalls. Can anyone name all the players, the photo's a bit fuzzy like my eyesight.

Apparently 1981 intake also had Manchester City Council sponsored apprentices.

Fred Dibnah must have been guest speaker as he's sat right next to the best looking apprentice and that's not Martin Cawley who's sat behind him in white.

A doorway stuffed full of apprentices somewhere in Germany 1985, just goes to show that fancy block pavin' ain't new. 
Bet the apprentice in the red teeshirt can't do that anymore. 		A river full of brown water, just like home, can we go to the pub now?
