CLUB MARK
The Giants, along with the other 7 amateur clubs in the town and Warrington Wolves, were presented with Sport England's 'Club Mark' award during the first match at the HJ Stadium (21st Feb 2004).
Nick Mangnall (coach) and Chris Howarth (U12 player) represented the Giants on the pitch to receive the award from the Sports Minister - Richard Caborn MP. The aim of the initiative, was championed and coordinated by Warrington Councils sport development team - Sport Warrington.  The aim of Club Mark is to share good ideas and best practice between sports clubs and to ensure that they are providing quality, safe, effective and enjoyable environments for all their players, parents, coaches, officials and volunteers.
Everyone involved with the running of the Giants has worked very hard to ensure all the documentation has been completed in time.  The club has produced a Club Development Plan, 3 Year Action Plan and also an Evidence Folder which has been assessed by Neil Kelly, Warrington Development Officer.
The club has already been awarded the Wolf Mark after meeting the required standards laid down by both Warrington Borough Council and the Warrington Wolves.  With this new award parents, players and the public can be assured that the Giants have a firm foundation with which to move forward with.

Future Funds Raising Activities

The committee has been working very hard to raise funds for the club.  To help with this, we are please to announce that we will be holding the following fund raising events in the town:

11th July - Bucket Collection
(at HJ Stadium)

21st August - Bag Pack
(at Tesco next to HJ Stadium)

Both events should raise much needed funds for the club and we hope that all the players and parents will want to help out on these days.

More details will be available closer to the events!

 BUILDING FOR THE FUTURE

The club has been boosted by the news that the U11s have a new sponsor. Local construction company 'Cruden Group' based on Knutsford Road, Grappenhall have agreed to become the teams new sponsor ensuring that the team are able to continue building on their success.  The kit was worn for the first time in a match against local rivals Latchford - a great match with the Giants running out eventual winners 30-14. The team is shown with a framed shirt which will be presented to Jim Massie, Chairman of Cruden Group which we hope will cement the relationship between the team and company.

 TOWN TEAM

The trails for the U11 Warrington Town Team were held recently and for the first time a member of the Grappenhall Giants will be appearing on the team sheet!
Thomas Arnold has been selected as 1 of the 20 person squad - this is a great personal achievement for Thomas and also for the club.  Thomas currently plays for the Giants U12 team and holds down the Number 6 spot.
Well done again to Thomas and his family and we all look forward to more Giants following in Thomas's footsteps!!
The trails for the U12s have also just taken place and we put 4 lads forward. Well done to Ian Waters, Chris Slater, Chris Howarth and Christian White.  Once we have some feedback then we will update the website
