The Giants, along with the other 7 amateur clubs in the town and Warrington Wolves, were presented with Sport England's 'Club Mark' award during the first match at the HJ Stadium (21st Feb 2004).
Nick Mangnall (coach) and Chris Howarth (U12 player) represented the Giants on the pitch to receive the award from the Sports Minister - Richard Caborn MP. The aim of the initiative, was championed and coordinated by Warrington Councils sport development team - Sport Warrington. The aim of Club Mark is to share good ideas and best practice between sports clubs and to ensure that they are providing quality, safe, effective and enjoyable environments for all their players, parents, coaches, officials and volunteers.
Everyone involved with the running of the Giants has worked very hard to ensure all the documentation has been completed in time. The club has produced a Club Development Plan, 3 Year Action Plan and also an Evidence Folder which has been assessed by Neil Kelly, Warrington Development Officer.
The club has already been awarded the Wolf Mark after meeting the required standards laid down by both Warrington Borough Council and the Warrington Wolves. With this new award parents, players and the public can be assured that the Giants have a firm foundation with which to move forward with.
